Project Management

Although I have not held the title of Project Manager, I have gained valuable project management experience. My work experience has given me the skills necessary to work with colleagues in both leadership and non-leadership roles, work well with customers, and manage time on web development projects.

At Alpine Innovations I was the Lead Designer, this roll gave me the opportunity to learn how to manage other people, assign tasks, and ensure the tasks were completed on time. While working at Infogenix, I had several opportunities to work with customers to gather and organize project specifications. At Newscycle Solutions, I worked with customers to complete their web development projects. I would spend three days on site to gather requirements for my projects and then compile that into a statement of work document. In my position it was important to keep track of how much time had been spent on the projects not only by me, but by my colleagues. It also fell on me to help ensure tasks were in scope and being completed, even if those tasks were being done by other departments like development.

In order to organize projects and communicate with customers, I have made use of several standard types of project documents including: Sitemaps, Personas, Wireframes, Gantt Charts, and more. I have also used several project management software packages including: Microsoft Project, Salesforce, Fish Bowl, and several open source software solutions.

Early in my career I struggled with organization. It is a skill that I have developed over time. Now I believe myself to be well suited for tasks that require good organization skills.
